Cui Yu

Cui Yu is a visiting scholar from P. R. China. She is doing his Ph.D. degree on the regulation mechanism of root secondary metabolites, studying the effect of flavonoids, and their effects on microbial community structure of rhizosphere in Hawthornin (C. pinnatifida Bge) and Sweet cherry (Cerasus), at the college of Horticulture, Shenyang Agricultural University, under the supervision of Professor Deguo Lv.
At present, she is working at the Fruit Breeding and Physiology laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Shahrokh Khanizadeh, at Horticultural Research and Development Center of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada on an already established experimental plot in L’ Acadie to evaluate the effect of cultural practices on fruit quality and performance of selected strawberry lines in relation to the chemical composition especially the level of hydrophobic and hydrophilic antioxidant in fruits. The goal is to develop a technique to provide guidance for strawberry production using mulches.
