Dr.
Zhang is visiting AAFC as a “Visiting fellow” and his internship is under
the Dr. Khanizadeh supervision. His
objectives is to work on “Development of new fruit crop in relation to pest
and disease resistant with improved shelf life”, the purpose of which is to
develop tools and techniques to accelerate breeding winter hardy, spring
frost and disease resistant fruits cultivars. A part of the work will be the
potential use of chlorophyll fluorescence and use of antioxidant in fruit
breeding to select for fruit quality and spring frost hardiness.
His
